Hey Yall,

We have just arrived back at our hotel in Texas and have got our car, Walt says driving it is scary! We had a great time in San Francisco the weather was cooler than here which is now 90F approx 32-34C! hot hot hot!

Our first day in San Francisco we journey out to Monterey and Carmel on the pacific Coast they were both very beautiful. Monterey used to have a big sardine cannery. we got to se some sealions on the rock they were very noisy, and walk on the beach in Carmel.

On Wednesday we went to Muir woods, Sausalito and Alcatraz, yes Walt managed to escape - I dont know how!!! Alcatraz was very interesting, I wouldn't have liked to be locked up in there at all. It is 1 1/4 miles from the shore and in the icy ocean currents you wouldn't stand much chance of escape although apparently 2 or 3 prisoners did however nobody knows if they lived.

We had a trip to Yosemite national park on Thursday which took longer than expected as an accident with 2 school buses held us up luckily our tour guides stayed on for us and we got to see some of the main sights. It was breathtakingly beautiful, we even managed to spot a bear.

On Friday we toured San Francisco went over the Golden Gate bridge in an open top bus - quite an experience very windy. We visited the Japanese tea garden in Golden Gate park and China Town. We walked up a really steep hill to get to the crookedest street which was quite interesting 10 z bends in 1 block.

Anyway tomorrow we head off to Rockport to see Uncle Walt (yes another Walter Glendinning) so once again i dont know when we will get a chance to update this as we are travelliong a lot. Hope you are all well.

btw yes Matt the salsa was yi yi yi becasue it made you go yi yi yi i had to eat an ice lolly after 1 mouthfull!
