So we made it to la after a very long flight during which we were followed by a wannabe paparazzi... I guess we look famous! We've had a few days to see the sights of LA and as much as it's nice and the weather is mostly lovely, I think a few days is all we really needed. We've explored the beach and had a very long walk between Venice Beech and Santa Monica, taking in all the sights- mainly cannabis stands, people insisting on us taking their CD and crazy homeless people throwing radios into ponds and telling us if we eat our lunch our bums will explode! ( in case you're wondering, we did eat and by some strange miracle, are still in one piece). We found a German girl called Laura and went with her to Hollywood, wLked the walk of fame, saw the sign in the hills and eventually after a blister-full trek, found the handprints and found a hand twin on Ozzy Osbourne- no wander we were papped! On the train getting there, my inability to walk past and ignore people talking to me ended with me giving a hugely embarrassing TV interview about the changes I'd noticed in the security nearing 9/11 anniversay- I basically answered 'I don't know, this is the first time I've been here' to every question! Definitely going to get spotted now!
Hollywood taught me a lot about how to get famous- 1. Buy a Hollywood wig. 2. Add some Hollywood shades. 3. Find an empty star and write your own name on it. 4. If all else fails, dress up as an actual famous person and charge people for a photo- cannot fail!
LA in a nutshell- many crazy homeless people, lovely sandy beaches, nice weather.
