Hi Everyone :-)
Well I am all set and ready to go (I think!!!). Leaving for Heathrow in about half an hour!! I have quadruple checked my passport, money, travellers cheques, flight tickets etc..... and now have just the contents of a 16kg rucksack to live from for the next few months!!
I am feeling very excited, nerves kicking in slightly now but I don't think to be honest it has all quite sunk in yet!! I think 29 hours on a plane will probably be the thing to do that for me!!
There are so many amazing and wonderful people I shall miss while I am away. Most importantly of course my parents who i love very much, they are the ones who encourage me to follow all my dreams, (however crazy they may be!!) and nothing I have done would ever have been possible wothout them, including this trip. I will think of them everyday while I am away, and I hope they enjoy having their house back again!!!
My wonderful and dear friends, particularly Emma, Catherine and Becca (my girls!!), I owe an awful lot to these 3 girls, they have been with me through thick and thin and I am very grateful for the hours and hours of advice and life planning we have sat through with each other- who knows where I would be without their amazing insights and inspiring chats!!! Also my kind and beautiful friend Becky who knows me inside out- without her I would never have had the courage to explore this option or perhaps even been brave enough to go- by the way please don't linch her for this!!!
Of course there is also my second family, the fantastic people of Northbourne school who will always be in my heart. I feel honoured to have worked with such wonderful, kind and strong people who over 1 year between them have taught me so much about myself and the world- what a year it has been!! I never dreamed that in my first year in the real world of work I would meet so many people who i consider to now be life-long friends. Looking forward to seeing how school life in Fiji compares!!!
One more person who I must mention is someone who I am so proud of- Jordan, my friend from Pegasus. He has grown into such a clever, mature young man (I know I sound old when I say this!!) and he is a real credit to his mum. I will miss the way he always manages to make me laugh hysterically whatever the situation, but I know he will be keeping my number plate nice and safe for me!!
There are of course so many more both friends and family I hold very dear and I shall miss you all. After my leaving party I did actually sit and think, with so many fantastic people who love me, why on earth am I actually heading to the other side of the world??!!!
But there is obviouly something else left for me yet to find, so on with the next chapter........let see how it goes!!
Love you all so much
