Today is what I love about traveling. We woke up with the intention of checking out, we were packed and everything. But after chatting to the group of people we were with last nights (1 of which we met back at Reggae Mansion in KL) we decided to follow their plans for the day. So unpacked (broke my sunglasses, lasted 6 weeks which isn't too bad) and headed out with them.
They were getting scooters and heading out to Batu Ferringhi, which we were planning on going to anyway, but we were just going to get a taxi there. As corny as it sounds, what today has reminded me is that it really isn't about the destination in anything, its all about the journey. My favourite and the most fun part of today was getting there.
Everyone hired out scooters. I however did not feel brave enough to get my own, so I opted to ride passenger. I picked who I thought looked most sensible and confident and asked to ride with them. Turns out my choice was spot on, as the guy (Mike - who is also from leamington spa, small world) is only biking his way from England to New Zealand, crazy. From being on the back of my dads bike I was very comfortable chilling on the back, taking in the views.
Got to the national park where we had some vile lunch and picked up a new pair of "Dior" sunglasses. After losing the group Chels and Sarah caught up with us (they were brave enough to drive their own) and the 10 of us caught a boat to Monkey Beach. Had a lush afternoon swimming and relaxing, and also had my fist go at jet skiing. I absolutely loved it, can't wait to do it again.
Headed back to get showered and out to the red garden again for dinner. Then we went to a bar, and I even had a go at karaoke haha. Avril Lavigne, sk8er boi is my song!!!
Sarah has to go back down to KL tomorrow to pick up her passport, so me and Chels are moving north again tomorrow. Very excited.
