Bonjour!

I am currently in Antibes, France! I arrived here about a month ago and Ruth and I spent a week living in a youth hostel on Cap d'Antibes (about an hours walk from Antibes each day). We had many adventures there with naked footballers (soccer) in our bathroom, sharing with snoring men and ecoli problems (I picked up giardia in Nepal-not nice!).

Danny arrived about a week after us and we found a cute very tiny little one-roomed studio to live in. I was actually only for 2 people, but we squished and snuck the third in each night to save money!! Our average day here involves hitting the crew agencies each morning from 9-12, doing a morning or afternoon dorkwalk (dock walk - handing out CVs to boats in the dock) and then emailing and eating and beaching/pooling in the afternoon.

I haven't found a permanent job yet but have done some day work. I worked on a charter boat during the Monaco Grand Prix (very noisy!) as a stewardess from 6pm to 6am. The clients were very rich Icelandic party animals who were up from about 11am to 7am drinking! I am now very apt at making bloody MArys and hamburgers at 2.30am!! On the last day I worked from 5pm Monday to 7.30pm Tuesday with 2 hours sleep, pretty much 24 hours straight - big zombie problem!! Got paid well though-tax free and all accomodation and food supplied while on board! I also did a days work recently, detailing cabins and bathrooms. For those of you who haven't doen stew work, detailing involves cleaning rooms with cottonbuds, toothpicks and toothbrushes - highly tedious stuff!!

Danny and I took a day trip to Italy for his birthday (Ruth was working unfortunately) and chilled out in Sanremo - got lost in the old town and tested out the food! A fun day!

Ruth has got work and is now in Italy, Danny is heading to Spain on Friday for his new job and I am about to be left alone in Antibes with no home..I'll send the photos of me sleeping on parkbenches asap!!

I'm having fun, meeting lots of (mainly Australain) people and am certain I'll find a job soon!
