This past weekend was the craziest weekend I have ever had in my entire life! Barcelona fue LOCO! Oh my gosh. Okay in the shortest way possible, i will attempt to explain this weekend. First, took the bus to Madrid, then people would not listen to me about the metro stops, so we went to the wrong stop and then we went to the right one, missed the bus and then had to wait for the 11:30 at night bus to barcelona. So we had to hang around downtown madrid for 4 hours, and that was so much fun. We foudnt this Burger King that was serving beer, and it was funny. The bus to Barcelona was 7.5 hours so we got there at 7 in the morning sleeping on the bus. Then we went to find the hotel we had booked for saturday night, but it did not exsist in the location they gave us for Barcelona, and the phone number didnt work.....so thought we were totally scammed. But then we found out they gave us the wrong info, and we cancelled and are supposed to get a full refund. If not, I am only out about 10-12 euros. So 7 in the mornig, we have a map of barcelona and decide to walk around the city. In 5 hours we cover SO MUCH of the city, and shop and stuff. The picture you see is la catedral de La familia sagrada- which was from the 1800s and was unfinished by the artist, but its HUGE soooo tall and sooo cool looking. I loved it. I bought myself, my sister, and matt all gifs. We then went to a pizza hut that was on the beach where we changed our clothes for teh first time in a day and brushed our teeth for the first tiem. Then we swam in the mediterranean. And for a shower, we used the showers that you use to wash off sand....lol we were true backpackers, showering in public with our shampoo and all, lol. The beaches were nude, and taht was different. THe sun was really intense so I got a good tan. We left the beach and walked around the port, found a cute restaurant with a waitor who knew lots of english and we got to know him, Rodrigo. He was hilarious. Then we headed to Las Ramblas, quite possibly one of the craziest streets int he world. SO many ppl, shops, giants walking around, creepy things pretending to be statues and then popping out and tormenting you. So fun. Lots of souvenier shops, thats where I got the present for matt, I haggled for it, and its really cool and I hope he loves it. I have decided this is my new favorite city in the world. We looked like true backpackers with all our bags on our backs, and my shoes tied around my neck, lol (i wore the sandals at that point, with tennis shoes tied around my neck). We went to a bar, drank Sangria, the first tiem doing that for me. I love in europe how we even had 18 year olds with us, and they dont even bother asking people if they are old enough. Its funny. our bartender was sooo cool, he was cute and had a british accent which of course made him 10 times cuter. ok, more to say, but time is out, i will post the letter later.
