k so where to start is probably the hardest about this blog. we landed into Bangkok and got into the city, we had heard so many stories about how dirty smelly etc it was that when we got there it wasnt as bad. sure it smells, rubbish everywhere, food cooking on street everywhere you look, while we were eating a big rat ran across the floor, cockroach in bathroom, side of streets being peoples houses etc but not as bad as we expected!! Ko San road was crazy, people selling everything you can imagine...thing that caught our eye was the ladies selling birds in cages but if you buy them we would have look for ever...guess we going to be unlucky ha ha. haggling galore!!! we spent a day in the floating market. it was class, a big wide river with hundreds of boats selling everything again. we were in a boat and if you spotted something you told the lady and she stopped while you haggled! cool. After that we went to a world war two memorial bridge, huge structure which the Japanese forced to build in 8months (it was bombed 3times by the americans in that time), was very interesting. then we went to a snake show, loads of different snakes, cobras, pythons etc! then the highlight of the day...tiger temple! It was amazing! got to touch and pet loads of tigers, full grown and babies still being fed with a baby bottle. It is run by monks to protect animals, as well as tigers, buffalo, cattle, horses and all sorts of birds roam free, it was beautiful! One lesson learned by me though...listen to instructions from guides...they siad you must put your hand firmly on the tiger or else tiger will think you are tickling it...first time i guess i wasnt firm enough because the tiger roared and me!! great day! we spent a day sight seeing, going to loads of temples seeing all the golden buddas. was really interesting! We also spent a day in NBK shopping centre, class place, could have spent few days there and still not seen it all! Didnt buy much as Brian kept point out to me...if mi buy it i have to carry it for the next ten months ha ha. we find the people really friendly and helpful and very curious in general but have met some dogdy folk too but I guess to be expected! all in all fairly impressed with the city, nice to stay for few days but thats about it. we are looking forward to the fresh air in the jungle in Chang Mai!
