I´m now in Potosi, the home of silver. Its the poorest city in Bolivia and the highest of its size in the world and its lovely. The hotel is not as great at the one in Uyuni, but its warm and dry. Its taking a while to get used to the temperature and the altitude, but I´m going to buy some yummy warm llama goods to keep me toasty. Well I´ve arrived in Bolivia, and am loving it. It took 2 days of 5am starts to get here, with a free camp in one of the most gorgeous places ever on the dodgiest roads ever, but its totally worth it. We arrived at our hotel in Uyuni (we have a break from camping because its too cold in Bolivia) wet and cold, but the hotel was brilliant. The campsite in Salta wasn´t the greatest. It didn´t actually seem like a real campsite, it just has a huge swimming pool, which unfortunately it was empty, a a few patches of grass to camp around, so had a do a few activities to get away from there. On our second day we went to this really gorgeous farm house belonging to a local famiy to go horseriding for the morning. The people and the gauchos (cowboys) were lovely. We left Iguazu and had a lnog drive ahead of us which involved a free camp. So far we´ve been lucky enough to aviod these as basically you just park yourself wherever you can along the way, set up camp and sleep. We spent one day in San Ignacio, the campsite was pretty empty, but the location was just gorgeous. There was a gorgeous lake for us to swim in and in the evening there was a beautiful sunset over it. It was only a quick stop off, but we went to the famous ruins and had a walk around thosde, so got some pretty good photos to add when I find the time.
