spending a few days in bariloche, the lake district. The lake Nahuel Huapi is the size of an ocean, (100km wide), and very dramatic when you are descending on the plane down towards it. We have the view of it from our window.
We were up some mountains today with the most jaw dropping scenery you could ever imagine. The food is lush and we really are getting fat, grilled lamb, trout, ice cream, apple strudel etc etc 3 stone later. There are more indigenous looking people down here, they are gorgeous.
We were going to go white water rafting today, but we both decided that we could do ourselves an injury, so we had a lie in instead. We swam in the lake which was nice but absoloutely freezing, and after 20min or so, just didnt get warmer.
This is the Switzerland of Argentina, looking forward to the weekend in Buenos Aires before Jon leaves for London..........
Part 2 - Bariloche.
Well we really have laughed the whole time we have been here. Upon arriving we noticed that everyone had this really surprised look on their faces, we thought that they were just really surprised to see us both, we have now realised that this is just the permenant expression they carry around with them.
i had to buy a fleece as its so cold at night, which really put my nose out of joint. I was in the store for ages trying them on, the girl said to me you are just wasting your time they´re all ugly. The other travellers are such tossers really, they love wearing fleeces in conjuction with rafting sandals, Australians and Germans being the main perpetrators. We couldnt tell who was a lesbian, versatile or who just loved wearing such attire. Jon thinks they are all lesbians, and Im relieved Im not here solo, they are aggressive, and love trekking around the f***in place looking hideous. Carla - there are sidewinders - everywhere!!!!!!!!!!(paula tucker is on guard ,with her armour trust me) They wear the sandals at night out on the town, which has provided an enormous amount of laughter, they thought it hilarious because I have a pair of heels in my bag. Theres no excuse for this offensive footwear even if you do work on a f***in boat, we met a new yorker who hated them passionately too, he was a joker.
Lastly, we bumped into Fred West down here, hes alive and kicking, and living in Bariloche. We were staring at him, and he gave us this knowing look and said ssssssshhhhhhh, he told us hes breeding crazy dogs and has given up serial killing. The dogs are crazy BTW they run around in packs and literally run people out of town if they dont like them. They have more spirit than the locals.....
Fotos to follow shortly I promise
