The desert festival last night was really good, we missed the camel race but the dancers, musicians, flame carriers and generally bendy people we saw made up for it. We also met some gujarati university students, they were around the same age as us (twenty of them in total) so they chatted about life in India and asked a million questions... many based on Cricket or Gordon Brown!?!
The 10th was spent as a free day and so Sarah and I hit the shops, Sarah spent every rupee in her purse! and we managed to hunt down a place that cold vegemite so I was a very happy bunny! The shops in Jaisalmer are amazing and you have to really push them to reduce there price, one man refused and Sarah didn't like being refused! Apart from this we didn't do a lot with our day. Dinner was spent on the rooftop and featured a puppet show and a three generation band, from Grandad to Granson who were all amazingly musically talented (even if Mahi did keep singing along and interupting them!)
The morning of the 11th was harsh one, we had to wake up at 5.45 am and go to a bus, the bus in itself was comfy and as last time had the sleeper carriages overhead, however during our Looooooong journey, 5 hoursish the man in the compartment above us was sick, and not just once! His vom covered about five rows of window by our seats so the curtains had to be kept firmly shut and the bus stank. Not cool.
Will Update soon. Jess xxx
