I couldnt find a picture that matched or was relevant, so there u go, uve got elephants! quite nice i think!!
hello! my next few days in Beijing hmmmm! well, yesterday we went to the Forbidden City and Tian'namen (not too sure of the spelling) Square, it was so jolly freezing! i had a major fleece on, with my long johns n everything! but u cant realy escape the minus temperatures when all tourist atractions r outside brrr! well, it was ok, they have a massive wall dedicated to the Beijing Olympics, n theres a countdown timer, its like 614 days, 8 hours, 37 mins, 19 seconds blah blah blah... to the Olympics! as u can tell theyre getting very excited about it! n also there is one of chinas presidents or chairmen, or something like that, who's been pickled in a jar in a museum there! only the chinese would use that as a tourist attraction.
The Forbidden City was ok, its bloody huuuuge tho! lots of gates and temples dedicated to past kings or whatever. although, we had the bad luck, n half the major famous temples r being reconstructed for the olympics, so loadsa stuff has got scaffolding on it! not too impressive, but it was good anyway. n last night we all went to a KungFu show. it was amazing! kinda a mixture between Theatre and dance and fighting. definitely the quality of a west end show, i was mesmerised by some of it and forgot to clap! so so so good!
Today, hmm, we went to the Summer Palace. Also realy good, the architecture and decoration of the temples and buildings is so beautiful, its definitely one of the highlights of the trip! although that was 4times as big as the Forbidden City, so we didnt get a chance to see all of it as i was having an ankle dilemma! tut tut, as u do!
we're leaving for the Geat Wall tomorrow, im very excited to see it! although 4 1/2 hours trekking doesnt sound too appealing to my fitness levels!
i dont know what we're going to do about dinner tonight, im sick of chinese food...
Bye bye xxx
