Hello!
So here I am in Thailand! Just feel I need to add one final detail about my time in India, on our last day in Chennai we ate in the hotel runs! hehehe, so immature! Had a wicked two days in Bangkok! Our hotel was so cushy compared to where we stayed in India! It had soft pillows! And a fridge with a marsbar in it! Anyway, moving on. Stayed near Kao San Rd-a really cool backpacker area, except we were sat in a bar on the first night saying 'aw i cant believe we are in a bar on Kao San Rd' only to walk a bit further the next day to find we were actually in a bar on the street nextdoor! Oops! I swear only we could do that! Was still a good night tho, until a Thai guy with a dodgy leg tried to chat Fallon up, then we moved on! The food here is amazing, yum yum, might put the weight back on that I lost in India! After we actually discovered the real Kao San Rd we had an awesom night there! Walked up and down the street markets and bought a really cool skirt to add to my hippy collection! There was so much cool cheap stuff so I had to restrain myself! We ended up chattin to some guys from London and totally showed them up, they were so drunk by the end of the night. We ended up in a random rock bar with loads of Thai guys skanking at the back, was great! Visited the grand palace and the emerald buddah too, so extravagant, another one of those things that I could have stared at for hours! Also went to the reclining buddah-it was huge, think about 100 feet! And we went in a tuk-tuk -thats my new favorite word! In Kanchanaburi at the moment. Went on a spped boat ride down the river Kwai visiting all the sights on the way. Went to the death railway museum and the war cemetry and then visited the famous bridge on the River Kwai, it was so moving, really makes you think. Feel like I am learning new things everyday. We also visited a cave temple with hindu gods and Buddah inside, it was really cool, went really deep in the cave exploring all the different rooms. Our hostel floats on the river, its ace!
Went to a national park and visited the Erawan falls today. It was stunning, had 7 levels and we climbed all the way to the top and swam in some of the pools, loads of fish were nibbling me tho! In the afternoon we went to the tiger temple. I havent made my mind up on this one yet. Its a Buddhist Monastery that cares for sick animals and feeds wild ones every morning and evening, it was really cool watching all the different animals come flocking at feeding time. The bit im not sure about was the tigers. They were all rescued from poachers and things but it just all seemed a bit strange, I got to walk around with them and stroke them. It really was an experience to be surrounded by huge tigers and stroke them, im just not sure if I liked it. They all seemed happy enough tho, and the monks live with and really care for them which is why they are so tame, but it was still a bit wierd. Still cant believe I stroked a tiger tho! Moving on to Ayuthaya tomora and then Chang Mai and then for our 3 day hill tribe trek which im really looking forward to.
Missing everyone, I will try and upload some photos soon! Try and make you all jealous!
Mucho love love love!
