You have got to be kidding me! I just spend 40 minutes updating my blog then the computer crashed and i have to do it all again grrrr!
so here it goes again! I officially cant surf, i nearly killed myself trying but all i managed to achieve was some kind of crap kneeling position!! I hired a surf board in Byron Bay with all these cool images in my head...who was i kidding hey?! Watched the waves for a bit and they looked nice and gentle so off i paddle out to sea, turn the board around and wait for a wave, so im waiting and waiting and turn round to see some kind of bloody Tsunami heading my way! So i panic and try to padlle away but before i know it this wave has lifted me god knows how high in the air then throws me off the board to do some kind of acrobatics in the wave, so there i was convinced the surf board was gonna land on my head! Luckily it didnt and i emerged from the wave winded with half the ocean coming out of my nose, just in time to see all these surfer dudes riding the mofo of a wave up to the beach! Cool hey?! Good job i can laugh at myself!
So anyway, tragic surfing attempts aside here is what ive been up to....
Brisbane was pretty crap i think! Probably didnt help that we were there on a bank holiday and everything was closed but it didnt seem all that great to me anyway...Where was the beach?! We had a wander round tho and went to the pub (surprisingly) and watched some live bands which was cool cos we havent seen any while we've been away.. oh except for that Thai rock band! The day after Brisbane we went down to Surfers Paradise. It really wasnt what i expected, it was really built up with high rise hotels and loads of clubs and stuff, kinda looked how i would imagine miami, it was cool in its own way tho, spent the day wandering around town and on the beach, then had a wicked night out! We randomly bumped into our Irish friends again! Its just getting wierd now, where ever we go we see them, just turned round from the bar and there they were! So we had a very fun night out with the Irish. The next day we headed down to Byron Bay...the best place in the world!! Anyway, my internet time is running out now so i'll finish this later, off to explore Melbourne now, and go on a Neighbours tour, how sad am i?!

Hello! I'll try and update some more!
So Byron Bay....its so cool! Is such a hippy little place full of little coffe and cake shops, bars, and hippy little shops..and it is home to cheeky monkeys..officially the funnest night out in the world! So anyway, our first day there we started the day off with cake and coffee (healthy i know!) in a cool little place and then went for a walk along the beach, which is gorgeous. The coast line is amazing. We walked right up to the light house and bypassed the most easterly point in Oz, the views were stunning! Spent the rest of the day lazing on the beach before getting ready for cheeky monkeys!! Had the best night out ever! Started off with our Goon in the hostel (i'll tell ya when i get back!) then went off to some pubs where we met some really random people..think they all thought we were totally mad tho cos we couldnt stop laughing at everything and couldnt even explain what was funny to people..anyway..headed to cheeky monkeys which is just so much fun!! Full of backpackers and Aussies on holiday, everyone up for a real good time! There was no dance floor, it was the norm for everyone to be up on the tables (or dance stages as they like to call em!) just dancing away! And we bumped into the Irish again! The music was brill too! So we stayed there till it closed at 3 then ended up going back to some of our Aussie friends holiday house with some of the Irish and were up all night partying hehehe!
The next day we went to Nimbin...the freakiest place in Oz! So we booked Jims Alternative tours (i should have guessed what kinda day it was gonna be from the name really!) So there we are ever so slightly hungover when this random hippy bus turns up with some crazy hippy man behind the wheel. He'd overbooked the tour so i had to sit in the aisle listening to wierd music and his stories about 3500 hippies camping out the police station campaigning to make cannbis legal! So Nimbin was just bizzare..think amsterdam with less sex and more hippies! Dope isnt actually legal there but the police turn a blind eye and the tiny little place is full of aging hippies stoned off there heads wandering around selling space cookies and stuff. There is a hemp embassy and a cannabis museum tucked among all these wierd little shops and cafes! So wierd. We had a couple of hours in Nimbin and then everyone piled back on the hippy bus stoned off there heads (not me tho mummy and daddy!) then we drove to a huge waterfall before going to visit Paul! Now then Paul... he is an American dude who bought loads of land and has now turned into a nature reserve and growas all sorts of crazy stuff there, and he lives there in the middle of nowhere in a hut by his lake. He had no shoes and was talking the most random crap ive ever heard..he just live there by himself making wierd sculptures and planting things!! Seriously, he gave us exotic fruits and nuts which he just ran off and picked. He had a possum skeleton hanging from his ceiling i kid you not! I didnt even know hippies like that existed!! Such a cool random day! After we got back from Nimbin we had a nap and then went for one more night at cheeky monkeys!
Our last day in Byron was the day of the tragic surfing..so much fun tho!! Headed to Sydney from Byron. Sydney was a really really cool city but we really didnt have long enough to appreciate it, 2 days is not enough. We stayed in one of the suburbs called Manley with Fallons uncle...it ws kinda nice to be in a real house and eat real food too! Got a bit pampered! We had a walk through Manley and along Manley beach to Shelley beach...a really nice walk. Than we got the ferry across to Sydney. The first view of the opera house and Sydney harbour bridge is amazing, gave me goose pimples! Went on a tour inside the opera house too, it rwally is cool. We walked along the bridge and went up the plon for some amzing city views! Spent he rest of the day mossying around the rocks area which is cool!
The next day we went to the blue mountains. Did a 3 hour canyon walk through eucalyptus forest then rainforest which was just stunning! The guide was telling us all the history about the aboriginies in the area which was really intersting but quite sad too..people just arent nice sometimes (understatement of the year!). Our group was really nice and we all had lunch together before going to the 3 sisters lookout and then heading off for tea and biccies on an ancient volcano surrounded by cheeky kangaroos! Was a really good day! Our last day in Sydney was spent lazing and people watching on Bondi beach..very cool! Did a bit of a coastal walk too which was lovely. Then we got a 17 hour bus journey to Melbourne! It was ok tho!
Now Melbourne i think is even cooler than Sydney! Think i will have to tell you about it later tho.. gonna go check out some more stuff before we head to the airport..so sad! I dont want to say bye to Oz, NZ better be cool!
