Howdy
My first post in Hong Kong. I've been here for a few days now. I've been to the museum, a nunnery, 10000 Buddah monastery and yesterday went to see the Big Buddah and Po Lin Monastery. Oh and a rubbish light and sound show along the Hong Kong skyline.
Hong Kong is expensiveeee! =|
I'm spending like 3 times the amount per day I did in China. Crazyyy.
It is hot in Hong Kong which is fab! The city reminds me a lot of the U.K. (You can buy mcvities biscuits and chocolate!) and the people aren't as nice as the people in China. It's been 2 days and nobody has even taken my photo hahaa I must have lost my celeb aura.
Food situation is strange. At first I couldn't find anywhere local and then I found a few places but last night I found the food street so everything is all good now.
The big Buddha was amazing! I wanted to hike but couldn't find the path so ended up getting the bus up the mountain and spending a bit longer which was nice. The 230ish stairs were so easy. My legs are machines now. We bought the meal ticket and had lunch in the monastery. Disgusting! Not nice flavours. We also went to the wisdom path which I really liked! Giant wooden monuments carved with prayer/wisdom script. It was serene.
I'm off to Macau for the day so will update when I return! I'm about to catch the ferry which I am so scared of doing! Sickness tablets taken and now all I can do it wait.
Peace
