With knife and fork in hand started the day with a piece of Marie-Antoinette cream bread. 8:15, 3rd in line, but not for long. The Palace of Versailles is very impressive. We slowly strolled through the maze of rooms, galleries, statues, & gardens. Tuesday is Music in the garden, we found only one fountain alive to the music. Saturday & Sunday all the fountains come alive. We searched each area for a new surprise, until the palaces of Trianon opened at noon. The Grand Trianon 1687, the recreational residence for Louis XIV. The Petit Trianon, Marie-Antoinette's Estate. After miles of walking, time for a rest at the Trianon Palace hotel. Later we went shopping in some unique shops; Pharmacy, Clothing, Salon, Bedding, Books, and yes Pastry. Sat upstairs at Le'Boeuf a'La Mode. The French make an experience of each meal. Started with Spanish ham & French onion soup. Wow, not anything like the Americanized version. Enjoyed Mouton Cadet 2012 Bordeaux. The French have been so friendly even helping me learn French.
