Rottnest Island, Western Australia
It's the hundredth day of the year and our friend, Jan's, 60th. A good day to start a new blog on a new site.
Barry and John are about to dive down to untangle the anchor chain from its position on the mooring at Rotto (Rottnest Island, about 20kms from Fremantle).
We've been moored at two different sites at the island for about five days so far and have been joined by several groups of friends at different times - Yvonne and Kevin, john and Claire and now, John and Pip.
About fifty metres closer to shore (as in - their boat is smaller than ours) are moored some other friends, Bill and Sara, who've joined us for several meals, particularly important as Bill has been successfully diving for crays. Yummo.
Yesterday, Bill demonstrated how to carve a swan from an apple. One needs to know these things. My attempt is shown in the photo. Note the lack of photos of crayfish - this is to save you from those awful feelings of jealousy.
New blog so will add more later when I know what I'm doing, if ever!
