The Great Escape
Highlights: Punta Arenas is cold. We arrived on an apparently hot day but it was 4 deg C, and windy as hell, with that Antarctic glacial chill factor. Here we met the Chilean Prince of Punta Arenas, Tito "Domingo", who introduced us to his general-cum-fisherman friend, who sold us 6kg of Chilean King Crab, whilst playing the piano. All to eat after an 8 hour trek at base camp of Torres Del Paine of course. I cant describe Torres so I will leave the pictures to do that. A special thanks to Tito who was also our invaluable host taking us to see penguins, treks and glaciers and the more local sites in Patagonia.
Disappointments: Absolutely none. Camping should be left to the professionals in this neck of the woods, let me assure you....(I asked them).
Other: As five of us shared a dorm in the freezing wood cabin, the snoring symphony was quite unique.
