Hi !!
We have arrived in Brisbane, staying in a great hostel with great bar downstairs. I have taken a huge liking to Brisbane, it will be one of places I'll think about working in.
We arrived late afternoon, after zorbing. I had never heard of this before until the other day. It's a huge plastic ball that rolls down a hill with you in it. They first hose you down with freezing water, then you have to dive head first into this ball. Three of us were in there, we knelt down then got pushed down the hill. Bizarre experience! Getting out is the funniest, looks like everyone is having re-births! Will put pictures up later!!:-)
The next day we went to Koala Sanctuary. Here they have 130 koalas. They are the cutest animals I have ever seen. We had chance to hug one and get picture taken, although my one was a little tempermental, scratched me on the face and pooed on my white t-shirt! :-) The other girls got a cute cuddly one! They have koala kindergarten, and a retirement home for koalas. It was so peaceful there and it smelled so nice, as koalas live on different species of eucalyptus leaves. They sleep for 19 hours a day because the leaves contain contain 50% water and 5% sugars and starches, a low energy diet!
After hugging the koala, we bought some kangaroo food, and hand fed the kangaroos. Some were babies and some rather large ones. It was amazing to be that close to them, and they just ate out of my hand. They have huge claws, so need to bend down while feeding them!
Our last day in Brsbane or Brisvegas, as it's known as! We're going to look around city today, and head to Noosa tomorrow early start! Miss you all, speak soon! xx
