After another lie in we got up and had a little potter around the town as per usual. We sat on the beach with the others for the afternoon and Rory and I made a work of art of a sandcastle! We said goodbye to the girls around 5pm, perfectly coinciding with the waves starting! I reached a seminal moment in my surfing career as for the first time I was out there on my own surfing with the real surfers on the big waves! It was a real rush and I ended up staying out there surfing for two hours and only came in because it was dark! That evening I was shattered and I now know about to be very ill! I was asleep by 930 which I am pretty sure is a record for the trip!
The next day I really was ill and it was a tough call whether we would be able to leave. In the end we decided it was probably best in case it got any worse! By the time we got to town to take the bus to Quito I was basically a zombie and feeling awful. We then got on the bus and there was an amusing incident which involved one of the conductors bursting in on Rory on the toilet and shouting at him that it was "solo para urinar" and Rory shouting thats what he was doing as the rest of the bus was in stitches! All in all it was a pretty hellish journey!
