Day 5....Benarkin State School
Today we ventured off with a small spring in our step knowning that today we would make it home to see our families and sleep in our own beds...
But we had a list of jobs to do before this would be possible, first on the list was filling out or feedback forms, but what to write we had so much to say but were to start.. Then it was on the bus time and off to Benarkin SS.
We arrived in Blackbutt for Lunch, some of us set off to the bakery other joined together for lunch at the Pancake Palace, but after this most of us ended up in the Art Gallery spending BIG and coming back to the bus with bottles of Chocolate Port and what not. The gallery was also doing taste tests this does help making up ones mind.
We arrived in at Benarkin SS meet with Caroline the Principal who was happy to see us and took us on a tour of the grounds. We spent alot of time looking over the Stephanie Alexander Garden and talking about layering in a non dig garden very interesting indeed. The day for cooking from the garden is a Thrusday so we missed out of that experience which was a shame when we looked over the menu from the pervious day.
At Lunch we toured with students around the school checking out the chickens and the roster Tim Tam who was beautiful.
We went to the Libray and saw what the Government had provided with the 1/4 of a million dollars for the library!
We then said our goodbyes and venture back to the bus all in a hurry to get home. We arrived back at the University at 5pm, Andrew our bus driver was wonderful and we thanked him and all looked forward to get back to our homes and relaxing.
We really experienced some wonderful things during this jammed pack week. If I could say one thing to you if you get the option to undertake this trip JUST DO IT!!
