please ignore the category for this blog entry, it went wrong and we cant change it now, so this is not CAIRNS nor SOUTH AUSTRALIA, but is in factQUEENSTOWN, NEW ZEALAND!
hello everyone!
THIS IS THE END OF NEWZEALAND AND THE BEGINNING OF AUSTRALIA, IN ONE QUICK RECAP, LACKING IN DETAIL IM AFRAID!
So, we had a great time in queenstown, a couple of good nites out there and a last minute massive bungy for me! o my god! one of the lads from my room was gettin up at 8 to do this massive NEVIS bungy, its 134 metres, which im told is about 400 odd ft? id said i wanted to do it but hadnt booked... so, he woke me up!!! lol. woke me up n asked if i wanted to come to see if i could get on a last minute cancellation. he went off for his fotst of 3 that day and i hung around for about an hour not knowing. then, 5 mnutes before the shuttle bus left to go i got told there was a space, and i was in it, eek.
as i was the lightest (not an advantage here) it meant i had to go last... crap. so as they carted us all accross some flimsy skywire thing on a little shuttle over a horrendous drop, we all got geared up and the jumping commenced! not yet scared i figured it would kick in... it did, when there was just me and this random left to jump and it was high! lol. i shuffled my little scared feet to the edge, looking at the ledge, mistake! told the guy i couldnt do it, he told me i could, lifted my head up, put my arms out, told me to let go of him (oops) and told me to take a deep breatyh. on the count of 3 my body somehow performed, and im so glad it did! it was amazing! scary as hell jumping off a nasty lil ledge into nothin, but so proud of myself. u also had to unhook ur legs part way back up, so u are sittin and not bein pulled up upside down... like doin a sit up mid air, i had no hope, thankfully abourt 10 of the 20 people who i did it with didnt manage... but guess what... little tess was spectacular and managed it perfectly! all hail tess! lol for those of you at home i have it all on dvd, and am gettin them copied and sent home... so go see the plimleys!
the other days in queenstown we met back up with our boys from the north island which was really nice, we got a wee bit tipsy with them, and when we got back to the riom (we were all sharing a dorm) we found the boys asleep...so decided to dress them in salad leaves and write obscenities in eyeliner on them. me and sam found this very funny as we were rather drunk, the boys also found it funny... well, kev didnt as he had definately passedout! considering we werent going to go out that nite we were so pleased we did! oo, there was also this drinkin competeion type thing at the hostel bar... they put an electric shock thing on your arm (like an ab toner thing) then get you to drink some orange juice... it was verrrrrrrry funny, everyone looked rather special, bless em! me and sam watched from a safe distance. lol
Well We can't mention Queenstown without talking about Ferg burger- these are no ordinary takeaway burger- these are like full meals in a bread bun with many flavours- such as bombay chicken and sweet julie- Truely amazing- so amazing that during our 5 nights there me and Tess had 3 - ooops
eerm, what next, ah, christchurch.
Well Christchurch is where we found out that min ( sam's) camera was also broken- meaning that we were now camera less between us. Well that isn't exactly true- as Tess can take photos but not see what she is taking and then we can view them on ours. We have started to see the funny side of this but now realising that it is going to be a pain to sort out.
christchurch was okay, pretty much similar top wellington, very city like, shops, a mrket, some museums/gallleries, and botanic gardens. we had a wander round the gardens (and a sunbathe), bought some nice purple specs from the market for a mere 4 quid! and wandered aimlessly before cookin masses of pasta to last us until we leave! lol. all was well and it was a lovely sunny day. the bar at the hostel had a live band our first night which was really good and we kept recognising random familiar faces from previous kiwi buses strolling in, along with some thankfully unfamiliar faces which me and sam chuckled about all nite! lol. the second nite was boring, but we went for a drink with pia and janny to say goodbye, our danish girls, i got bored and went to bed, pia went on the internet, and janni and sam stayed downstairs with their pints and 2 4 1 vouchers! lol. in the morning we ewre off to sydney... or were we...
il explain that in the next blog entry as the cafe is closing now... so il round up, sorry it was so rushed guys!
new zealand was fun, not as hot as we would have liked, not as cheap as we would have liked, but was full of amazing exoperiences and memories and a place where we made some great friends! thankyou newzealand, and good night! xxx
