We only had one day in Gibraltar - that is enough for anyone I think. It is a really interesting place to visit - It has been fought over by the Moors, English, Romans, and Spanish over the years, and at present is more British than England. The place is virtually a rock and some reclaimed land. To enter, you need to show your passport, and then walk across a runway - which closes when a plane needs to use it - and can catch double decker buses to the centre of town - basically a street within the sea walls of the original town where you use Pounds instead of Euro, see Re dtelephone boxes and Bobby policemen. The queue for cars entering Gibraltar was miles long!!! We decided to catch the cable car up the Rock - how brave am I? - but got persuaded by a taxi to take a tour, including entry into the Apes Den (where you can have monkeys sit on your head!!), St Michaels Caves, and The Seige Tunnels. It was a really good tour, and the driver gave us all the history and local knowledge as we went.
We wandered around the main street, outside the walls and through tunnelswhen we got back, before heading back to Spain after dark, ready to drive on and head for Ali and Patrick in Los Boliches, Fuengirola.
