The 5 wakas (canoes, or as us modern daty people call them buses) each had a tribal chief, and Glen stood with his fellow leaders to represent our tribe during the welcome ceremony. They had to keep straight faces whilst the Tamaki village tried to intimidate them with war dances. For some reason Glen was picked as the 'Chosen one' and given a fern. I assume he did something right!
