This flowering tree is called the New Zealand Christmas tree. They are all over.

Scott Snavely what a climb! wiki tells me the aoraki peak is some 12,310 feet high! forget mile high, you're 2.33mi high!

Scott Snavely i watched the little slideshow they put together from your guys' trip. one of the captions says the jet boat goes over 50mph!

Scott Snavely despite the weather, that view of the harbour bridge and opera house looks awesome! did the bridge look about as tall as the arch? you take an elevator to the top of the arch though...

Scott Snavely I would challenge why we are talking about penguins in the southern hemisphere but apparently jennay did her master's thesis on this topic and proved me absolutely wrong. Love the updates, still love the backround pic, can't wait to see more!

Scott Snavely glad you guys caught your flight for dallas despite mom's knee blowing up the metal detectors. i'm assuming the checked bags cleared the 50lb max? unfortunately the laker game isn't televised for me tonight, say hey to jack nicholson for me.
