Hola Sally! Espero que todo este bien contigo y con tus viajes. I enjoyed the pictures and truly hope you are enjoying this incredible experience. Say hi to the howler monkeys for me. Mil besos y pura vida!!!

Sally!
I love all your pics! The ones of the rainforest are so pretty. It reminds me of the rainforest I went to in Australia so much. I also liked the monkey pics and videos. I'm trying to live vicariously through you :) because Indiana is so boring.
That's nice that you have a new placement. It's sounds like a really great place and a place where I know you will be able to help those young ladies. Have fun!
Love you, miss you

Sally, the pictures are beautiful. The experiences you are having are lifetime memories. The rain forest looks incredible. The snake encounters would lifetime nightmares for me - Nick comes by it honestly - from his grandpa and me! Happy to hear that work is going better for you. You're missed but we're so proud of you for doing so much for those who have so little. They are getting to know a truly caring and generous young lady - which is the first thing I tell people about you! Take care and keep those blogs coming!

I am glad you have a new placement. Those girls have never known the circle of love that you have here at home. Much love from Grandma

Hey Sally! It sounds like you are doing some amazing things in Costa Rica! I miss it there already! We started in La Fortuna and stayed at "Gringo Pete's," which was nice, but I know a lot of people like the "Arenal Backpacker's Resort," which is like $14/night. We booked a tour through them (even though we didn't stay there) to go on a guided hike, viewing of the lava flow, and to the hotsprings, which was $38. It was a lot of fun and I recommend that. I guess you can't always see the lava flow, but we could that night. Bear with me, this could be a long post. We did the Monteverde stuff and stayed at "Sleepers Sleep Cheaper" hostel and that was a great place. The owner, Ronnie, was so helpful and they provide breakfast. We did the canopy tour through a company called "Extremo," which that was my favorite activity on the trip! We made our way down to a little beach town on the Pacific coast called Playa Samara and enjoyed hanging out on the beach there. You can try surfing with or without a lesson...but I recommend a lesson because one of my friends ended up getting stitches from surfing without the lesson. The people are so helpful...especially the guy that owns the surf shop at the end of the main street if you keep walking toward the water. (He will probably remember me and my friend that got stitches). We stayed at a hostel called "El Ancla" for $10/night, and it was okay. I know there are nicer places, but you will have to pay a lot more for them. Our final destination was Manuel Antonio near Quepos. We stayed at the cutest place called "Casa Buena Vista," which is down a hill on the Mariposa street. It is in the rainforest and is open-air, so you can hear all of the rainforest sounds at night. I loved it! It was $25 for a double room with a private bath. The lady's name is Anita that owns it, and she is very helpful. We ate at "Agua Azul" and "Barba Roja"...both great places. We went to the Manuel Antonio National Park which was $10 to get in (I think). We decided not to get a guide and we were able to see lots of monkeys and sloths on our own. I even saw a snake and a capybara! There is a beautiful little cove right next to the Cathedral Point where we swam in the water and it was amazing! The iguanas will try to get into your things while you aren't looking though! There are some great places to buy souvenirs along the street there by the beach. I hope this helps. If you have any questions, just let me know and I'd be happy to answer them. You are going to have a great time down there! Pura vida!

Sally, I loved the video and photos! I also hope that things are somewhat easier for you at the NH. Just seeing your beautiful smile and to hold your hand may be a true "gift" to many of those people, especially those who never have visitors. Have a good week. Love, Aunt Becky

HIIIIiiii!!!!!! It sounds like things are going good...hope the old folks thing gets better soon. I can not wait to see some pictures and see how pretty it is there. It makes me really miss Haiti! Everyone here wanted me to tell you they are thinking about you and cant wait to hear from you. Things are good here. Not much has been going on. Sally... I am really eager to hear from you each day or so. I knew that the NH would ber agreat cultural shock for you. I found that living in that NH in Terre Haute that month was painful and distressing. So many of the patients were forgotten by their families and they had ceased to be alert. remember that what little you do for then is a great blessing. I am trying to get my pictures on the the computer so that I can send them to you. My week was great! Bill and Mary or Frank and alyce picked up the check whenever we ate out. more later, Love from Gma

Hi Sally - it was great to "see" you last night on Nick's webcam! I'm loving your blog and happy that your Spanish has returned so you can converse with the ladies. Just remember: "Habla mas despacio, por favor!" That always worked for me in Baja! We miss you already and will send a care package to you soon!
