What a day - first pls check out the staircase leading up to our sleeping area last night in the Seminary. It's seems the priest insisted on renovating it for peregrinos to give them a decent bed - makes me feel a little humble. Got my own blessing - hand & cross points on my forehead.
We had planned to stay a day in Burgos but exhausted by a morning of trudging round so got on the Camino again to get some blood flowing. My plan was to catch a bus but couldn't understand the cithes and hoiches (very guteral spanish locally) in the little village so plodded on - took one break sleeping on a park bench and walked off Camino to a little town for the next - barmaid looked like she had been through the ringer, guys drinking hard stuff, no wonder I couldn't understand them. To explain get food here from a bakery or from a bar. My off Camino got me into trouble as I had to negotiate spaghetti junction to find the Camino again. But there is a wonderful anonymous person who sprays fluorescent arrows pointing Peregrinos the right way- even off-Camino :)
In an upmarket Albergue tonight - we have sheets - only $20/per.
Heard a cuckoo today :)
