A fresh morning the next day. We wake up early morning.... Dawn prayers at the services we have our breakfast... And head off.... South we go... The beautiful drive the Swiss country side and endless curving roads passing the long tunnels we enter the swiss borders.. Recently part of EU we still notice the border Checking... Prob the one of the few countries in Europe to do this... There is no random check for our CLS....
Driving straight through the country, reminds us of the trip we made 4 years earlier.. We than traveled by train from Zurich to Geneva... Enjoying the landscape of Swiss even from the motorways a short break near Geneva we head onwards re-routing we are listening to Matt Monroe .... On days like these.. The drifts and the beautiful driving roads we head on for a stop at Montblanc..
Driving at the Swiss French border and than at the foot hills of Alps... I am utterly lost in the beauty of this place...to dream a dream of happiness a joy pounds in the heart the simple ecstasy of life one feels the Glory of God.... The blessing of his are countless...
We pray our travel prayers for midday combined at base of Montblanc Tunnel
We cross Montblanc a seven mile long tunnel under the Alps to Italy we start getting used to the toll roads from now onwards...
The Mont Blanc Tunnel is a road tunnel in the Alps under the Mont Blanc mountain, linking Chamonix, Haute-Savoie, France, and Courmayeur, Aosta Valley, Italy.
It is one of the major trans-Alpine transport routes, particularly for Italy, which relies on the tunnel for transporting as much as one-third of its freight to northern Europe. It reduces the route from France to Turin by 31miles (50 km) and to Milan by 62 miles (100km)
A fire cost lives in 1999. As a result now there are strict speed and distance restrictions with plenty of cameras watching every move
A great feature of engineering.. A great feeling to drive through the worlds longest tunnel,
At half way through the Tunnel signs for Italy welcome us.
