Firstly: A very merry christmas to everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful and joyful evening/day :) We had a very untraditional, one of a kind christmas eve, but what a treat with all the great food, presents (from the hotel), champagne and delightful company!
Skiing has been such a treat for especially me, as it was approx 5 years ago i went last time! We have had sun almost all week and one or two days with snow falling while we were skiing!
Zell am See has a lot of slopes, mostly red, and Mark And I have been skiing together because we love the speed :) the first two days we only did the blue ones, just to get the feeling about it all again, but after a while we got the hang of it and tried the red ones! We also filmed each other to see what difficulties we have and could change! We also managed to ski down the black slope, but halfway it was soooooo misty and very hard to see where the track was. We managed to get down, exhausted though, but very proud!
We have been skiing mostly in Zell am See, but Wednesday and Thursday we went to Kaprun to check out the slopes there. Wednesday it was snowing like hell and the visability was horrible. We took the lift up and tried to ski down! But that was almost impossible, and I fell hard! I smashed my head in the snow and twisted my thumb - thank god I had on a helmet! We all ended up taking the lift down again and went home!
Thursday we tried our luck again and it was sunny - yay! On the slopes Mark and I went of by our selves and found a snow park where the "pro" skiers and snowboarders do their acrobatics! Dare-devils as we are, Mark and I had to try out some of the smaller jumps! The first run went perfectly! Up again and an other snowpark apeared! We wanted to try this one as well. So down, down, down, and while Mark was ahead I tried to stop, but my skiies thought otherwise! I fell hard and screamed! The first thing on my mind was: S*** I HAVE BROKEN MY KNEE AGAIN, no Philippines and plaster for at least 3 months!!!!!!! And of course it was the same knee that I broke in 1998!! I was lying, crying and tried to get a grip on my self, when 3 german guys came and helped me and went for help! After a while I started moving my leg and it hurt a bit, but it wasn't broken! THANK GOD!!!!! After 10 min sitting on the cold snow, a Austrian man came and picked me up, so I could take the lifts down and go to the hospital to get my knee checked!
I sat waiting in the waiting room and after 10 min after arrival, they called me in to do an x-ray! Then waiting again and 5 min later i got my result; nothing broken but twisted and no more skiing for me! Annoying to end the holiday with a twisted knee, but Phew, what a relief it wasn't broken!
So today (Friday) I have been walking a bit in the city, looking in the shops, but didn't by anything! Tomorrow we drive home and soon it will be 2013 and time for the Philippines!
So everyone, HAPPY NEW YEAR <3
