SUCCESS!
I actually caught the shuttle bus back to Seoul this time! Steph and Barry came with me to see me off and had kindly put together a little travel package for me which included, cheese sandwiches, some beauty products and an english magazine, amazing!
I've had such a great time in Korea and mainly because I got to see close family which is exactly what I needed :) Steph - I know you said you were sorry you had to work and couldn't do more stuff, but it's honestly been perfect!! Ive loved being able to come into school with you and then lounging around in the evening in PJs for once cos I can't really do that in hostels. It's been like a little home from home and ive loved just being with you guys! So thanks SO much to both of you for having me and for everything this week :)
The bus got me to Seoul after about 5 or 6 hours and from there I caught the subway to to the airport. Even though my flight is at 8.45 am I decided that there was no point me booking a hotel just or a couple hours as I wouldt have got there until about 11 and I'd have had to leave at around 6am, so instead decide to sleep at the airport! Steph found out on the website that theres actually a 24 hour spa at Incheon airport which costs the equivalent of £10 and has saunas, showers and traditional mats you can sleep on on the floor.
I'm writing this from the spa now, just before heading to sleep. I was a bit worried at first as i'd met a girl in Japan who'd used spas in Korea and said they were communal female hot baths which everyone just gets naked and jumps in together. I'd never used one so wasn't sure what the etiquette was, especially in an airport which might not be as traditional as other places in Korea because of the amount of international people using it during layovers. I was self conscious about having to strip off anyway, and what if I got naked and walked in to find everyone else in swimming costumes! Hahaa. So I loitered around for a while like a weirdo to see what everyone else did; turns out no one cares here and just strips and gets on with it! So I followed suit - got starkers and headed for the steam room. After using the sauna and hot baths (decided against the freezing cold bath this time around..) I had a quick shower and changed into my "XXXL" pyjama/loungewear THANKS KOREA. Not only did I have to endure sitting with a load of ridiculously skinny naked Asian women but they decided to reinforce my size difference with gigantic person sized clothes - brilliant! Haha. It was the same when I stayed in the 9hr capsule hotel and they gave me XL clothing so I wasn't that bothered!
Anyways, im writing this while my phone is charging up and ive plugged it in where the hairdryer is supposed to be and I'm getting evil looks so gonna wrap it up and hit the sack.. or mat. Night!
Ps here's hoping my alarm works and I wake up in time for my flight, fingers crossed...
