This is my last blog entry which is highly despressing. I am writing from the confort of my home which is pleasant, however this does mean our trip is finished. After my most recent entry we headed to BeachComber island with our two bottles of local 58% bounty rum. The island was paradise and there were lots of old faces there so we had a great time doing the Bula dance and crashing out very late in the 100 bed dorm! Pierre's birthday the second night was just as messy if not more with everyone ending up in the sea at 3am. After Beachcomber we went back to the mainland, stayed a night in Nadi then headed to Beqa with couple diving instructings we met at Nomads. Once there we stayed a night in a brammer resort and the next day we took part in the shark-diving. The weather was pretty dodge but luckily it wasn't called off so we got all our gear and headed out in the morning. The first dive was 30m where we saw the divers feed mostly nurse sharks and some big fish like Trevailly. There are no cages and we were always sitting on our knee's or lying down about 2m from the feeding. After the nurse sharks we ascended to about 10m and fed black, silver, white and grey tipped reef sharks, some up to about 2m's. There was also a bull shark calmly swimming behind us which was a bit scary. The second dive after tea/coffee was to 16m where they fed five or six bull sharks some getting up to about 4m long. The whole experience was immense and we have the DVD in the post so that should be cool when it comes through. After the shark diving we headed back to Nadi for a night and then headed out to the Yasawa islands for our island hopping trip. The tour was seven days six nights, we went to Coral View, Manta Ray resort, Kuata and South sea island plus one night on a cruise. Ever night was awesome, all the islands were stunning and everyday just involved eating fijian cuisine, snorkelling, swimming, sunbathing, fijian dancing and games in the evening and summit walks. We also did this wicked cave trip where we got to climb up about 12m and jump into a cave pool at the bottom. Also we went sunset fishing which was immense, caught a red snapper and the village cooked it for our lunch the next day. The cruise had great night life and we got to do some more Kava, the local fijian traditional drink. Kayaking and sailing were also involved and we pretty much had perfect weather the whole week. The flew to LA on the day we got back to the harbour, only after having a Mama's Pizza with the friends we had made. We landed in LA after an aweful flight and headed straight for Venice beach and just chilled, took a walk, nearly caught Pink in concert but just missed her finish her set. Did some shopping and Pat and I got a MONSTER burger, 24 ounces, it was huge and obviously I didn't finish but I did manage to attract the eyes of many passers by. The next day we flew with BA and it was awesome compared to rubbish Air Pacific, caught up on some cracking movies, finally got home at 7:30pm and saw alll the family. To conclude I thing it may be fair to say that taking a gap year and going travelling its the best decision of my life. I feel like a different person now and the last six months have been indescriably good. I urge everyone to find time to travel so everyone can share the experience's I have now had.
