Well...my American adventure is now over and I am in Fiji! Bula!!
First and foremost, and something I can't quite get me head around yet, the time here is 7am, August 1st. Which means I am now 12 hours ahead of the UK (I think). The flight over was trouble free and the 10.5 hours seemed to fly by. I think I'm used to long journeys now. An added bonus was that I had two seats to myself so it was much more comfortable.
I have been in the country about 2 hours and what I have seen so far looks good. The pace of life is a complete contrast to America and although I have only seen a little, the countryside looks really nice. There was a free transfer to my hostel waiting for me at the airport (which I didn't expect) and my hostel backs on to the ocean which is a pretty impressive sight.
My plan now is to spend two nights at this hostel after which I think I will tour the main island for 5 days or so before heading off to spend some time on one or two of the smaller islands for a few days.
As for America, I feel that I made the most of those six and a half weeks. I saw a lot, I met a lot of really nice people and at the end I felt a little sad to be leaving. I am looking forward to some new experiences now though and more importantly, eating some better food.
Bye for now, I hope everyone at home is well and that it isn't too cold or wet.
