hello hello!

I am now in Whistler (so ignore that the map says vancouver - it was being annoying and wouldn't find Whistler)...it's so beautiful here, loads of snow, lovely mountains!

I arrived on Sunday night - got the bus up to Vancouver from Seattle, and then Fynn picked me up and we drove up here to Whistler. Yesterday Fynn was working so i just went down to Whistler village and explored the shops and cafes etc...very nice, lots of things to do around here.

Then today we went down and got me a lift pass and boots and a board for the week (with a lovely 50% employee discount from Fynn!) and off we went! Stuck to the baby slope today, just trying to master boarding and get confident...it went really well - Fynn is a great teacher, he explained it all in a way that made perfect sense and made it seem so easy. I still fell a lot the first few hours - and i have the bruises to show for it (especially on my bum! i kept falling so hard on my coccyx and i am in a little pain when sitting! but it's all good - i'm learning to snowboard and to get good you have to fall over...if you don't, it just means you're not going for it so won't make any progress!)...But in the afternoon i got pretty good - i can now pretty much snowboard! i'm doing all the proper turns and everything! i'm thinking that by thursday i'll be able to go up a proper mountain! Fynn even said i look like a proper snowboarder when i'm going down the slope, which is great! LOVE IT!

so yeh, having a great time here - staying with Fynn in his staff housing, which is basically a little room in a flat of three rooms, on a corridor of about 10 flats....pretty much like student halls. everyone's lovely...it's all goooood!

Still very excited to come home tho - i'll be home on monday!!!!!!!! wooohoooooo! you better all be ready for me!!
