Here are some key phrases:
"No Worries Mate" - I have understood you and will probably follow what you say.
"STREWTH!" - I am somewhat surprised
"Your round, mate" - I strongly suggest you purchase a drink for everyone, else pain my be inflicted.
"Ya Flamin' Gallah" - I think you are a bit of a buffoon
"Bonza" - Good, Great, Excellent
"Fair Dinkum" - Honest
"Ya lil ripper" - I think you are a great person.
"Tinnie" - a can of beer or small tin boat
"Schooner" - a 425ml measure of alcoholic beverage. (smaller than a pint so that it may be consumed before the heat warms it up too much)
"Bities" - all dangerous animals. (recommend staying away from them)
With those that the obvious phrases (like barby) you can have a conversation wit almost any aussie!
