Melbourne is cute, with a cosmopolitan feel to it. The people here are generally very friendly, and it's quite a live-able city! Unfortunately, we stayed a little outside town, in a hostel with dodgy showers and a box room for a kitchen with no sink (sink was in the tv/ dinner?room!!!!), but with fabulous people, so we couldn't complain!!!!!
Amongst our sight seeing and shopping for dresses for parties, and presents for each other (me and Dip), we decided to do something a little different, so we booked a... TRAPEZE LESSON with the circus!!!?We were going for?excitment,?with?a touch of?elegance (the leggings i bought for the lesson, classy i know)!! So we arrive at this field, with a horsey feel to it ;)! And get kitted out into harnesses,?while watching others flying around in the air! Hmmm.... this feels like enough excitment for me! I'm done, lets go! Anyway, we're made to stay, mainly because we're now at the top of the ladder to have our first go! Correction, MY first go, seeing as Dip's already nominated me!
Okay, so you want me to reach as far as i can and grab the bar? (The bar's at least a metre away from me, as i stand at the edge of the platform, holding onto the instructor's leg!!) Anyway, this is a tough guy, and he's got the back of my harness and says he won't let go. Hmmm.... i dont know him, but i've got to trust him! So i do, and try to reach out. After much deliberation, and mindless talking, i manage to grab hold of the bar, and soon after that i'm swinging around!!!! Wow, this is pretty cool! We soon learn how to do tricks, like swing upside down, with only our legs hooked over the bar, and the BIG ONE! This is 'The Catch'! Thankfully we're not the one's doing the catching, boy would i feel bad if i missed! Can't describe the catch, besides WATCH THE VIDEO! It was amazing! So mcuh fun!!!! I think i may have just found my vocation... Watch this space!
Melbourne seemed to be excitment after excitment, with Christmas drawing near! All my presents had been bought, as well as a cute little dress! Now we just needed to get our hair done! On Chritmas eve, we?went to a small Japanese hairdressers who did a fantastic job of straightening my hair (i didn't have mine!). While we were there, i met this trainee who said, 'You smell nice'. Ooohh!! Thanks! (I think!) But we got chatting, and realised she said my 'smile was nice'!!! Awwww, have just found my new best mate!!?She then spent the rest of?the time practicing the two, smile, smell, smile, smell, smile, smell....!!!!!!
Dressing up time has arrived, and we're excitied!!!! We get dolled up, and get a taxi to a club. Within minutes of arriving, we realise this place isn't quite what we expected, so we waited for a taxi to the club in?the Crown?Casino. This was a cold wait! In fact it was the coldest Christmas Eve Melbourne's seen in 35 years!! Thanks a lot!!! Anyway, we spent the rest of the night in this club! And what a good night it was!!! We danced the night away, with various interesting conversations along the way, which as you can imagine seemed to get more and more amusing as the night went on!!
Chritmas day = good food and presents!!! After waking up a little groggy, we got?dressed?and went?down to the?pub (part of the hostel) for?our Chritmas meal.
It was really nicely done by the family who run the place, with good food, and a little present for everyone! (I got flashing earrings and Dip got the antennae she's wearing in the pic!)?Dip and i also exchanged presents, and amongst other things she?got me a milkshake maker! Sounds funny, but if you know me, you'll understand that this was pretty perfect!!!!!!!! We also went to the beach, just to?brag about?'Christmas on the beach' to everyone at home! This didn't quite go to plan, as it was really windy, we needed to wear a couple of layers, and it then rained!!! Oh well!
