We had a fantastic last day! In the morning we blood tested 23 buffalo and we even had to restrain one fully awake buffalo calf because the vet forgot to remove the dart. One of the guys got flung across the enclosure twice!
We then got an emergency call to a cheetah in the afternoon. It had a huge gash in it's chest which we suspected was from a warthog. We cleaned and stitched it as best we could. Hopefully she will be ok! it's very strange that we did cheetah on our first and last day at the same reserve!
We went out in the evening with Murray and janelle which was a lot of fun.
I was all packed last night so I can relax this morning. I still can't quite believe we're leaving. I am very sad to leave but I am also looking forward to university. I know I will be coming back as soon as possible. This trip has been absolutely fantastic. I've met some amazing people and seen some amazing things. I'm so proud to be part of the beginning of the rhino dehorning, its so great that something is being about poaching. Whether it will work or not only time will tell.
We should be leaving at about 9am and then we have a 5 hour drive to Johannesburg. Our flight is at 8pm and we should arrive in England at about 6:30am. Not looking forward to the journey but it will be good to see everyone at home!
Once again south Africa has has provided me with an experience of a life time!!
