The beautiful Northwest has been our home since 1968 when Bob became a professor at Washington State University. Rachel has taught in the Pullman Public Schools since 1986.
Three years ago we purchased a house on Quail Ridge Golf Course, overlooking the Snake River, 35 miles from Pullman. This has allowed us to keep in touch with friends from over the years, and attend W.S.U. sport's events as season ticket holders. Addtionally, we have been blessed with many new friendships here in the Lewiston/Clarkston Valley.
Now that we are both retired (June 2007) we've been traveling to visit family and friends and trying to organize years of collected treasures!
This fall we visited our son Greg and his wife Cindy who currently teach at Shanghai American School in Shanghai, China. Our grandchildren attend the same school. Anna a freshman and Tyler a 7th grader enjoy making friends with students from various countries.
In May we plan to visit our son Doug who teaches at the Anglo-American School in Moscow, Russia and participate in a Tabor College Tour of Poland and Ukraine. When we comment on the fact that our children and grandchildren live so far away, they remind us, "It's your fault, because you took us overseas when we were young, and this was what happened as a result of it!" Bob's sabbaticals from W.S.U. in the Philippines (1979) and Taiwan (1986) made an enormous impression on both of our boys. We're happy for them because they enjoy such a wide variety of international experiences, plus it gives us the opportunity to travel.
We are involved in activities at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarkston, including Bible studies, teaching children and choir.
We also enjoy boating, especially when the grandchildren come home, fishing, re-landscaping our yard and traveling.
