Florence was first stop before getting to Rome!
TRAVELING TIPS:
#1: if you don't have long, use the site seeing bus tour so you can at least see everything in an hour
#2: Try and find a transport timetable before hand. We didn't understand where anything could take us without it.
#3: if all else fails, get yourself to the top towards Galileo's home where the reproduced version of Michelangelo's Famous sculpture of David is (moved the original). It overlooks all of Florence. And try to get to the only bridge that wasnt destroyed that separates east and west. Name escapes me.
#4: Firenze/Florence station DOES NOT HAVE LUGGAGE STORAGE. We had to carry ours around.
#5: Trains running down the country need to be booked, but you can rock up to your destination, find a ticket machine and buy your ticket when you're ready to move to your next stop. It's that easy! We simply bought the ticket when we were ready to go.
Economy is the good way to travel! Plenty of space and a folding table available. Bring food/drink!
Florence is a beautiful little town that is full of amazing little streets, buildings and greenery. I was too sick to see it all so we did a tour bus so I didn't have to walk. That and we didnt know what to so with our bag...
The view from "David" was magnificent! Drove by the hill where Galileo went to survey the stars through his telescope. Passed through the streets where important families use to live - they're mini mansions! Mansion looking on the outside but scaled to a small house.
The river was amazing!! When you look behind you when crossing, the view is beautiful.
We then ate maccas to try some spinach and cheese filled nuggets, and fries in the shape of Smith's Crinkle Cut Chips. Soooo good. But my stomach cldnt handle that much oil haha.
Onwards to Rome!
