Hey guys, ok so im in Darwin in autralia now!
Day 14- 06/10/09
Today we got up and met the group at 7.30, after 2 hours on the bus we arrived at the great wall of china! It took about an hour to walk up to the actual wall! It was hard work but I totally enjoyed it!once we were at the top we walked around the wall!the views from the top were amazing!we took lots of pics!!And to get down we took the tabagon! Wel that was ace we proper bombed it down!It was an exciting day! I felt great after it, all that exercise, which I had greatly missed J.
The hygiene in china is quite bad and most toilets are squats just like holes and no toilet role so you have to be equipped at all times! Also everyone spilt as wel which is pretty rank!
Day 15-
Today we had a free day on our tourso I went to see the olymic stadium in Beijinge along with 4 others from the group! we didn't end you going in as there there were specific times you could go in and only on certain days! I have found there are a lot of rules in china for certain things then absolutely none for others like the driving was crazy!Later that afternoon we went to this huge market, where you got seriously hastled as soon as u as much as glaced at someone store and you had to do some serious haggling or you would defo get ripped off! Was a bit daunting at first but once you got the hang of it it was lots of fun!i got a few bargins!( mum you would have been proud). Later that evening we got the train to Shanghi. This train was a soft sleeper one, which ment two bunk beds and a sliding door that separated the room from the small corridor! We had lots of fun on the train! We all pilled into one room and played lots of ridiculous games, it was really good to help get the group to start to bond more!
Day 16 - 08/10/09
After a 7 hour train journey we arrived in shanghi! I fel straight asleep when we got in the excitement of the train really had been too much for me, I was exhausted!Later that day we had an orientation from our tour guide and were left to our own devises! Kate and I went up the pearl tower!Once of the largest towers in the world! Was nice to see the view but kinda felt it was just like another nice view! After getting bak from there I got a text from mum saying greetings from shanghi and that they had just been to see the pearl tower so I had just missed them! Very random! I swear they are following me hehehehehe!Later that evening we went to this Acrobats show, it was absolutely amazing, I was fully entertained the whole time!It made me realize how much I really enjoy that sort of thing!
Day 17 - We had the morning to have a look at shanghi but we didn't really have enough time to see much!We got the train to x ian this time we were on a hard sleeper!Which ment bunk beds of 3 s and not 2s and they were harder and narrower but still ok!you could sleep on them you just woke up when the train was slowing down and breaking but was so strange sleeping on a train!
Day 18- 10/10/09
We arrived in xian and the weather was sooo cold, it felt like English Weather! Raning and dull skyes! We went to see the Bell tower and the Drum tower! Later we went to the muslim quatre was a really nice market there! We saw a few beggars too, some of them quite disturbing! In the evening the group searched for this local food calledpaomo- broken up bread and noodles in soup! It was rank and we were all so desperate to try the local food !!!The air here was very smoggy and by now I was really noticing the lack of fresh air!The staring wasn't do bad here as Beijing and Shanghi. The hygine of people and places is not up to much lots of spitting!!!!
Day 19 - Today we went to see the Teracotta warriors!they were pretty amazing to see and the details of each individual was impressive!Apparently not all of them are uncovered so there are more!We had a guide who told us about the different hair styles meaning different ranks. In the evening we went to this restauranet with the group we had some local food was lovely! Ido really like the chinses food!im wel passed the equivalent to a korma now, my spices taste buds have been tested heheheh! We got a tuck tuck back which was an experience as the driving is ridiculously crazy, a bit like a ride really!anything goes, cars just stop in the middle of the road to let people get in!
Day 20 - Flew to Chengdo! The air was not as smoggy and there was not the hustle and bustle that we had had in xian, so I had good first impressions! people also seemed politer too, and would acknowledge you if they bumped into you!i wasn't used to people apologizing for this! We walked around and found some nice quant tea houses and some black swans, and lots of pretty buildings! It seemed a lot cleaner than xian and I didn't see any beggars either! Also you didn't get hastled to buy things at the market, they were a lot more relaxed and you didn't feel pressured to buy things!later that evening we went for a gorgeous Tibetan style meal, it was so spice hot but I loved it and could nt get enough of it!Later that evening we went to a cultural performance!o my god it was funny it was that bad- wel I thought! There were dancers with gold dresses waving their arms and this puppet show! It was interesting to see what their entertainment consists of and im glad I saw it! There was one bit I was impressed with the changing masks, which literally they changed their whole mask in a split second in front of everyone! It was impressive, its one of the kept secrets!
Day 21- ate our tea at the night market I wanst feeling too wel so had a lye in! oh yeah! Was wel needed! Such a world wind being on a tour everyday!
Day 22- got a flight to Jing Hong, spent all day flying and waiting for flights!we arrived to glorious sunshine, first in nearly a week! There wasn't much here it was just a stop over point!

A 5 hour bus ride in the smallest bus ever for 14 people!we had lots of fun sang songs to each other threw our ipods and we had to guess ecahothers tunes! We entertained ourselves so it was all good! We arrived at the loas boarder then had a private bus to Luang Nam! This was such a remote place, literally one main road, people living in little shacks wshing by a stream! It was a real eye opener! We went on a bike ride to see this waterfall, owned by locals in their little village! Was nice to do some exercise again had really missed it!so I felt great after it!After having only traveled for two days I really needed it!
Day 24 - Today we were on the road again- a 9 hour bus ride to Lung Probang! I had carbanarna and pizza for tea, 1st western meal in a good while so you can imagine how good it taste! We were all used to sharing banquets it seemed strange to just have one meal - so I shared two! Wel why not hey!
Day 25 - We stayed in Lung Probang for 3 nights, which was really nice to stay in the same place for more than one night, as when your getting to ure Barings sure moving again!its a constant world wind!i do love it tho, everyday is soooo different! !

Day 26 - Today we went on an elephant ride! O my god it was so hard to get on and off it!!!! I really loved the elephant rides there was three of us in a row, we went threw the woods then threw a waterfall which later we swam in!it was so lovely it was like paradise this place! We all climbed up the waterfall and then chilled in the sun! first time I had some that it was not for long but it was amazing!
