Well... I think we were very spoilt in Hong Kong, people were extremely friendly and really wanted to help you to find places etc when we stood looking a little confused! The MTR (tube system) was so easy to manage and it had everything in English. The food was nice and we managed to find a bar where we were staying to have a few beers at the end of the day!
Hong Kong Island was wicked lots and lots of big tall buildings, and then somewhere in the middle they threw in a zoo - pretty weird but it worked and was quite nice to walk round, although it's all hills!
We got on a tram for 2 stops and realised we didn't actually know where we were going so we got off. Then got the bus up to the peak. This bus was a double decker and went round the bendiest roads on which I think was a mountain or something like that! I couldn't look over the edge as I was gripping Chris' hand with my eyes tighlty shut!! I kept wondering if we should maybe even the weight out on the bus but it was cool no on else panicked so thought it must be ok
The peak was really good but really cloudy, sat and had a beer in the clouds!
We saw the New Years Parade which to be honest was a little bit of a let down, we got there early to beat crowds stood around for about 3 hours before anything happened, left before the end as our legs were aching, when we walked away we couldn't bend them, spent 5mins doing some leg exercises! Found an Irish bar and watched some or all of the Tottenham game, Chris scared pretty much the whole bar when they scored !!
Took a walk along the river on the way home, was lovely, after stopping at another bar for another beer hehehe!!
The place we stayed was really nice had our own shower and bathroom. The traffic lights beeped when they were red then beeped faster when they went green (quite annoying) so glad I am not listening to that anymore.
Shame the weather wasn't better as the Star Ferry, the Peak and the Giant Buddah would have been a lot more interesting but we still got on with it like the really hard and cool people we are!!
All in all great place, suprisingly not as big as I thought it would be, walked for ages to come to the same place, would defo go back and see it again and I think 5 days is long enough. Plenty to do and see but gets a little boring after a while!
Will update you on Bangkok when we have left! I am not a big fan, Chris is still deciding.
