April 28
Today we arrived San Fran after a long flight from Sydney. We were in the second last row but it was okay cause we had it all to ourselves.
Once we got in we checked in to our hotel which was nice, good location right next to Union Square. After a quick nap we headed over to AT&T Park to see the Giants game. We stopped at Thirstybear on the way to have a beer and tapas. The game was fun but freezing cold and by the 7th inning we were exhausted.

We woke up and after some confusion with the transit system we made our way to Haight & Ashbury. Interesting area, but lots of homeless which we hadn't seen for some time. Took a walk through golden gate park which was a busy place but lots of quiet areas as well. We got on a bus and headed towards Lombard St where we grabbed a quick bite at Mels Diner before walking through Cows Hollow on our way up the hilly streets to Crooked St. It's a series of 8 bends that when built was done so to help get up the steep incline.
We got back to the room and got ready to go out for dinner. We ended up eating at Oolas and it was great. The ribs are a definate. We got a little tipsy and the bartender got the rundown on everything, but we had a great time.
The next morning we, with our hangovers in tow, were off to Alcatraz.

The Rock was really cool, and the audio tour was really good at taking you through the history and many events that have occurred over the years. The cells are smaller than you would think and couldn't imagine spending time in there as a convict.
We walked through fishermans wharf on the way to the cable car and didn't like it all cause it was ridiculously touristy.
We ended up having a quiet evening in and getting dinner from uncle vitos pizza. Off to Vancouver tomorrow!
