Williams to Las vegas (230 miles)
Firstly a word for our sponsors. Thank you gaviscon and sennacot. We couldn't have got this far without you.
Visited Bearzonia this morning in Williams - a safari park just of the animals native to Arizona. Excellent stop off. Bison, black bears and all sorts of critters. Ive seen most of them already on this trip. It made a change to see them alive though.
Road to LV had a few 66 landmarks worthy of stopping. Such as the Hackberry trading post, inspiration for Disney when making Cars, feeding and fuelling passing 66 routers for 80 years.
Passed a convict work team on the road with police officers holding shotguns over them whilst they picked up litter. Big sign saying ' inmates working do not stop'. You dont see that every day.
Hoover dam was cool. The valley not. 102 degrees. Saw a lucrative opportunity. A small Chinese lady standing on the ledge. Had she had gone over, an easy £250 on 'you've been framed.'.
Also stopped at Kingman airport. Its one of the US plane boneyards where hundreds of planes coming to the end of their life go to die. Wierd seeing all these DHL planes which look fine being scrapped.
Now I know where Ryanair go shopping for new planes.
Las vegas is mental. We have a room at the Bellagio overlooking the fountains. The hotel is exceptional, but booking in was a bit of a cattle market. So many people. It genuinely took us longer to book in than to get through US customs into the country! Had a moan. Got a free dinner in the room. Kerching.....
Fountains are spectacular, especially in your room, in just your pants with a beer in hand.
And I didn't even mind Les drinking my beer.
TFB. Xx
