The story so far. It was either Lucy or Emma who said" why don't you and Peter Newstead get off your bums and do it!" We had been discussing driving Route 66 one day and so that is how it happened that we did indeed get off our bums and Route 66 Here we Come.

Elaine will meet me in Los Angeles and we then cruise from San Diego to Southampton via Mexico, Central America, Panama Canal, the West Indies and the Azores.

I turn 70 the day we arrive in Southampton so it is going to be a special time with the first 3 weeks travelling Old USA with Peter, then the cruise.

Today it is minus 6 degrees C in Chicago so, rethinking the packing

Off to Chicago on Feb 19, and we leave on Route 66 on Feb 22 so we will keep you posted.
