Well we booked a guide tour of the Franz Josef Glacier! So woke up bright and early to get to the departure office at 9.15am, got all kitted up in walking boots with spikes, jackets, hats, gloves, socks etc! Got to the public access part and had to trek for about 2.5kms to the actual glacier, our guide split everyone into 4 groups, we had a choice of going in group 1 which was the hardcore team who sped ahead, or down to group 4 who take it easy!...so matt ofcour...

Woke up in a fly infested tent!not nice, then headed to Greymouth for some breakfast, then onto the Franz Josef glacier! We booked an all day walk onto the glacier for tomorrow, 8 hours in total, costing a whopping $140 each, ouch! but hopefully it will be worth it!we will get the pics up as soon as we can!
