Aw what an awsome birthday! And thanks a heap for all the wonderful well wishes my peoples!
Had a nice lazy morning playing guitar. Axel (Erika´s husband) went and got lovely fresh rolls for breakfast and I was heralded to the breakfast table by strains of ´Zum Geburtstag viel Glueck´...ie ´Happy Birthday´.
Took a train into Nuernberg with Erika and visited the Christkindlmarkt. Which was just lovely. Filled with the spicy scent of Gluehwein and roasting nuts and gingerbread. Glass baubles sparkled from the lit up stalls and strains of various Christmas melodies were to be heard from the distant carosel in the Children´s Christmas market. More Glühwein and the Traditional ´Nürnberger Würstle in einem Brötchen´ later and it was time for Erika to go to work, so I spent the afternoon enjoying the old city´s shops, churches and fountains.
After a sucessful homward navigation via train and underground and bus, I arrived to a bustling kitchen where Erika was making Spätzle. Wolfgang the drummer also joined us for dinner and beer and Schnapps... and wine. ´Wir sind keine Saüfer´... famous last words...
We then cracked out the drums and guitars down in the music rooma dn it turned into a right party! Such a crack up! I swear I spent half the night in tears while everyone rocked out like it was 1968 or something! We also decided to name ourselves ´Baby und die Grübels´... ie Baby and the oldies (colloquial almost in the tomb/grave)... guess whos the Baby... A birthday like no other!
