Enroute to Beaver, Utah. We had to deal with daylight savings time today, which meant that we had to get up an hour earlier. This was difficult for some. Tracy and Viv volunteered to go to Starbucks to pick up coffee before our 8 oclock start out of Dillon. So we were on I 15 and traveled through some fantastic scenery and traversed about 4 major passes- up to 6800 feet. The trucks made them to the top without difficulty and then it was the quick trip down from the passes. Not a lot of snow, but the passes obviously get a lot- with snow markers on the roads. We then came out of Idaho and into Utah. We stopped outside of Salt Lake for a pickup lunch- Subway etc. The trip through Salt Lake City took about 1.5 hours at 93 km/hr (the top speed of the Edson Truck). So traffic was very light and we got through very easily. No delays on the trip today, it is just a long 940 kilometers to Beaver. Since Beaver doesn't have liquor stores, we stocked up on some refreshments to wash away the road dust. We arrived in Beaver at 730 and had a great steak supper across from the hotel.

Lorraine Symes Wish I was with you, have a great trip everyone!!!
Irma Darcy Thank you for your dedication to charitable works through Rotary and wonderful efforts to help the city of Mazatlan. I am following your account and pictures everyday and hope to see the group of you and the vehicles when you arrive. Is there a reception somewhere? It is heartwarming to see such a positive event about Mexico. You should be given nationwide media coverage in Canada instead of all the misleading negativity about tourism. Bravo!
