Ios:
Well haha party island number two is out the way and I am somewhat relieved to be getting out of here!! It's just too much, everynight you say to yourself I am going to take it easy and the night ends up taking you away to a different place. Everyone from busabout is always in a great mood so it's hard not to get caught up in all of that, I guess you can say i have a phobia of missing out. Plus this is the greek islands and really what do you come here for on the party islands.
Times in Ios have provided quite a few bloody good memories. The word 'Salty' has seemed to stick. I have no idea how it come about but its so funny. We see the whole crew throwing it around the place, we are lucky we have such a great group, everyone gets along so well, we have made some good contacts and friends out of this tour.
I met some chicago ladies and they introduced me to 'icing' which involves planting a shmirnoff ice drink in a random location for someone to find. When found they have to get onto one knee and neck the bottle. There have been some funny moments, I put a bottle down the front of my pants and went up to one of the girls and said take a look at my abs :P, here she found my planted bottle. She got me back during the night by placing a bottle in the arse crack of a random guy... hilarious. Chris also nailed me with the same trick on our last night out on the town. I found a new term for pre drinks - in the US they say pre - gaming.
Nights out on the town, well there is a bar called slammer bar and here they either give you slap shots, which as the name suggests you get a pretty decent slap across the face after your shot. Then there is another shot you can do which involves putting a motorbike helmet on your head and after the shot the bartender hits you over the head with a random object, this includes a hammer, skateboard, crate, co2 cylinder just about anything they can get their hands on. There are some good drinks which involve lighting the bar and your drink, i had a great picture taken with cameron whilst doing this. I tried a flaming lamborghini and as much as it tasted like ass it was still a wicked drink. The first night out all 4 of us guys dressed a bit smarter for the ladies, funny thing is in most of the bars you end up getting your tops off and dancing on any bar top you can find, we were painted with flourescent colours all over our face and chests. It was good night just like any other.
On the last night the guys had an absolute ripper of a night. It started off at the bar 'rehab' we all got into tiny g-strings and danced on the bar tops for the ladies..sooo funny, the g-strings where sooo small there was some junk hanging out the sides all round needless to say :p.. the girls by the end of the dancing started ripping off our g-strings. This is honestly something i never expected to be a part of, but then again there is no where else like the greek islands so you just have to enjoy the atmosphere of this place..clothed or unclothed haha and get amoungst it.
I met a very cute french canadian from 'Quebec' here who was so gorgeous, I got some s*** from the guys for 'falling for her' haha funny thing is i only spent 2 days with her. It is so nice to hear a different accent. She tried to teach me a little french and italian. Really enjoyed my time with her, good memories, like the late night glass of wine we had at a relaxed bar, probably around 3 or 4am, candle on the table haha too cute.
Another hilarious thing the 4 of us guys started was a game to start learning a few greek words. We started replacing words like:
Thank you (Efharisto), Hello (Yassas - group, yassou - ind), Yes (ne), No (ochi), Sleep (Ciesta), Mate (fili), please/you're welcome (palicalo), goodmorning (kalimera), Good evening (kalispera) and cheers (Yamas). The rules were if you used anyone of these english words instead of the equivalent greek you had to do 10 push ups on the spot no matter where you were. This game lead to many many open ended questions which lead to soo many push ups. My arms were like jelly after the first day but man did we laugh everytime someone slipped up!! I was in tears.
Breakies either consisted of omlettes or fruit, museli, honey and yogurt, with a banana smoothy or juice. My one way of somewhat trying to maintain a healthy diet. The cheapest meals are always the Gyros (yuros) but its kind of like eating mcdonalds everyday. There were some all you can eat woodfire pizza nights aswell which were delicious, the table looked like an island of crusts.
On the island I went for a mach 2 tube ride behind a malibu wake boat. I only realised that i still had alcohol in my system 5 minutes into the ride when i started to get really tired really quickly. Bought some good pictures and had quite a few stacks, i thought it would be a lot easier.
All I can say is there is no place like Ios, I think we drank a fair bit less here than mykonos but the nights were twice as big. It's not really a mega club type place but more a place with many bars, so all night long you are on your feet bar hopping, you might get to 7 different bars in a night if you stick with the group.
