THE most annoying thing in the whole world just happened to me.i kid you not,im in mild depression....i wrote this long,detailed,witty account of mylife over the past few days...and then deleted it.so now im sat in the local spar on the internet whilst the asian shopkeeper sings behind me. god damn. ok im gonna try to make this funny and cool like the other one but if it takes a nose dive its cause of the whole deleting thing. ok, welcome to sydney and my life since i came into sydney. nearly wet myself when i first saw the opera house.it isnt over hyped in any way and it just as picture perfect as lonely planey says it is. however...on entering sydney on the oz bus i did notice we were going over a bridge and when asked by helen if it was the sydney harbour bridge or not i replied (like the experienced aussie tour guide i am 'no way')....and yes,it was.looking back on it now,literally,turning around and looking...it is super duper, but its smaller than i imagined and only really is so great cos it appears over a stunning harbour near the opera house.if it was in london it wouldnt be as spectacular. itsno taj mahal, lets jsut leave it there. so where ami now?literally im sat in spar (lol) milking my unlimited internet...but what i have been doing is all this: night one in sydney...after livs yumm pasta pesto we hit the town,champagne at side bar and then onto a gay,yes GAY bar,and u think manchester has a crazy gay scene,u aint seen nothing yet. i was in mild shock and let the guy u reccommended it know how i felt about being directed to a gay bar the following night.(he compensated by getting us drinks-ill talk about that later tho).however,it was quite fun, once u ignored the guys grinding and kissing each other the music was pretty good. an hour or so later and they brought out the tranny dancers and that was bye bye time for me. it was a little harder removing helen tho as she sat in awe at these men hu had better figures than allof us put together. tried a few other bars but endedup back at the hostel in bed. day one in sydney.....missioning it around, hyde park, st marys cathedral (wher ive just landed in from today),kings cross (red light-im staying there now) and finally onto the botanical gardens and harbour. what a harbour (wit woo) if i could live anywhere in the world,sydney is in mytop three places,wellit was until irealised that the population of aussies here is veryvery low and the whole city seemsto be run by asia. picturesque...beautiful...so ihopped on a ferry ride with tom and the girls and we hit the free tea cake and coffee HARD, very hard indeed, so hard that i was high on sugar and endedup steering and commentating with amy and helen at the front of the boat!!! it was SO good, we were made part of the crew and he let amy narrate a bit.i have photograhic evidence. hopped off at darling harbour where the cheapo shops called us in.all i bought wasa belt, but it was very pretty and its been unremovable since,whether it goes with the enssemble or not. speaking of ensembles, whilst lorraine and amy went to see romeo and juliet at the opera house(which im trying to book for weds but without my cashcard working isproving difficult) me helen and liv dressed up for a big one. the only problem- we all dressed pretty much the same...soooooooo instead of changing after a coupleof drinks we decided we were in a pop group- adequately named 'sweetness' ugh how sickeningly tacky! so went to cargo, waterside bar very very nice and big (and cold:(.... ) and demanded drinks cos the barman sent us to gay heaven the night before. thr manager took a shine to us (must have been the girl band outfits) and free drinks came rolling our way,chapagne,wine,and later i turned to corona (A$8!!!). it was so much fun. then the bongo man calledus over and gave us drinks vouchers and we were gonna go toa VIP suite but instead got free food( coswe were famous! lol)and leftto gohome. hehehe. yesterday we hit the best beach in the world,bondi,which in my opinion was a complete letdown.give me cottesloe in perth or lake mckenzie anyday.imsure its amazing in summer and one day i will return and take whitney with me to tell me why its so good. we bummedin and out of the boutiqes fora bit but they were all so pricey that we ended up at bondojunction shopping mall holding puppies and kittens!!! haha. last night me tom and the girls had a farewell meal and drinks and then this morning at4 tomleft and at 8 the girlsleft and now im a bit lost.both literally and mentally. but im ok. fear not.i left a long note at gilligans formy mates huve gone to the blu mountains tocome meet me in KC tonight,but if they dont i may be stuckin my haunted house hostel. fear not,i gotmoved rooms so now i have an 8 shar with bathroom and kitchen to myself,wooppeee chek me out, but i really do hope hatty mike and emily come over elsei may be lonely. well, im going to gonow...think of what to get for food..on $5 cos mybloody cashcard is up the shoot. roll on sydney...(im here til friday...) love to all rosie (solo once again) x
