Well, after all the excitement of Pikes Peak and long hours of driving over the past couple of days, today was a lot more leisurely. We had about 230 miles to do and no particular stops planned along the way.
We got up later than usual and headed down to breakfast, today we both decided on pancakes, and checked out about 11. We hopped on the interstate out of Albuquerque an took the exit to old Route 66 when possible. We passed through San Fidel, Grants and Thoreau and had a quick stop at Continental Divide (which funnily enough is on the continental divide line!); where the water will always be flowing away from you.
Moving on, we made our way into Gallup and found a proper American diner for a lunch stop (burgers all round). After stuffing ourselves we carried on through Defiance to the state line; hello Arizona!
