Hey you!
I am utterly in love with this country! it is so incredibly beautiful and literally awesome...Ross, Anna and I have rented a car as it worked out much cheaper than getting the coach and we are so glad we did because we must have stopped a good 10 times just today to get out and stand there looking at this incredible scenery and taking loads of photos. the freedom to do that is fantastic.
People here are really lovely, the hostels are wonderful and I'm just so happy to be here. Don't want to slag off Oz 'cos there were loads of really gret things about it, but I can't see why you'd wanna go and live there when you could come and live here! I can't imagine nature being more beautiful than it is here (and we haven't even got to the bits that people really rave about yet though we are off to milford sounds tomorrow- so excited)- Ross and I keep saying that it's like Shropshire but on a REALLY big and more awe-inspiring scale!
We left Christchurch yesterday and had a leisurely drive down to Dunedin, with a stop off at the Moeraki Boulders (used in 'Narnia') in order to dress up in frocks and red lippy and stand on the rocks (ross' idea- to do with his love of a film called 'priscilla queen of the desert'- which is ace!). Dunedin was really cool- even more hilly than Bristol...we got there late but ran in the rain to the supermarket then went to our private dorm (which we have again tonight in a different hostel-luxury!) and ate soup and drank cider...can't believe ross has managed to get me into drinking cider again- haven't done that since I was 14.
Right- that was a long gushing email- I'm just so happy in this beautiful country- mum, dad you really have made a countrygirl out of me...
Love to you all, wish you were here to share this with me.
