Hey guys!
I'm in Brisbane at the mo- arrived here at about 6 this morning from hervey bay. Spent the last couple of days on fraser island, which was just wonderful. loved it so much, was totally what I came to oz for. I'd been made to go on a guided tour rather than the normal self drive by the supernanny type woman in cairns and I am so glad I did. It cost a bit more but all our food was included and it was fantastic and we got luxury tents with beds inside...also it was brilliant having someone who really knows the island and who could stop and point out things that I'd have missed otherwise- and our guide was hilarious- so stereotypically australian! "no worries, no drama"- like having steve irwin driving the 4x4 bus- especially when it came to him pointing out the MASSIVE spiders that were everywhere...Rose was not a happy lady!
Also for the first time met some people that I really got on with. Think oz does attract lots of a certain kind of traveller: young and primarily concerned with drinking their way up or down the east coast. This tour (prob because it wasn't the cheapest) had a slightly older crowd and I met one guy in particular that just made me feel so much better about being here cos I genuinely got on with him and could have a proper laugh.
Am just gonna spend the day chilling out and exploring Brisbane and then I fly to Sydney tomorrow- hurrah!
